Twelve agencies located throughout Dane County have primary responsibility for programs and services for older adults. Serving designated geographic areas, these focal point agencies provide the entry points through which older persons—and their families—access a broad array of programs and services.

Grandparents & Other Relatives as Parents Caregiver Program

The Rainbow Project
Provides support, education, and resources for caregivers who are grandparents and other relatives as parents. Support group meets 2nd Saturday/month, 9-11 am at The Rainbow Project (831 E Washington Avenue, Madison) with free childcare. Latinx Grandparents & Other Relatives as Parents Caregiver Program

NewBridge Madison
Provides support, education, and resources for Spanish-speaking caregivers who are grandparents raising their grandchildren living throughout Dane County. Support and education group is conducted in Spanish; limited transportation available and light refreshments offered. Support group meets 4th Wednesday/most months, 5:30-8 pm at Fitchburg Senior Center (5510 E Lacy Road).

Senior Nutrition Program

There are 29 Dane County senior dining sites where seniors (age 60+) meet to socialize and have a nutritious meal on a donation basis. Meals provided on a donation basis and everyone is welcome to participate regardless of their ability to contribute. Dane County also provides funding for five locally-owned restaurants to offer a weekly senior nutrition program: Cranberry Creek Café (Madison), Cuco’s Mexican Restaurant (Madison), DeForest Family Restaurant, Festival Foods Grocery Store (Madison), Fink’s Restaurant (Mt. Horeb), and Ziggy’s BBQ Smokehouse & Ice Cream Parlor (Oregon).

Transportation Services

Volunteer Programs

RSVP of Dane County

Matches seniors and volunteers (age 55+) with opportunities to serve throughout Dane County, considering volunteer's talents, interests, and schedules. Coordinates Triad - community law enforcement and senior adults working together to reduce the crriminal victimization of the elderly through programs.
